This is what is Sounds Like When Servers Cry
Wow.
It’s Monday, and we know how everyone feels about Mondays…yet oddly enough I am a little relieved: Zu Boutique survived the weekend. You guys put us to the test Friday night/Saturday morning. The onslaught of the tee shirt hungry individuals almost brought us to our knees, as I’m sure most of you late night devotees can attest to. You came close to bringing us down, and even though the site was burping out some “Http 500 server errors” a quick refresh typically brought that back into line. The bigger issue was the company that handles our credit card transactions. I don’t think they were prepared for seemingly sleepy little Zu to raise up into the fire spitting beast it became. It seems out of a state of fear and shock they were blindly declining some transactions. Cheers to those of you persistent enough to keep trying until the transaction went through unhindered. In the end we maybe have one transaction that is still hung up in the system. Not too bad considering the massive flood of commerce you all pounded against us.
To all of that all I can really say is THANK YOU. Thank you to those of you who bought Zu Bees and came back for more. Thank you to those who, unhappy with the Bees, came back in faith that we’d have something you’d like this time around. Thank you to those of you who hated the bees, and were excited to see the new designs that you could hate as well, and surprisingly found them to be a significant improvement. Hey, thank you even to the haters who still hate…I appreciate that you at least came back to check things out. Don’t give up on us, there’s a lot to come, and in my opinion a lot better to come.
Sadly here’s where the bad news happens. (Which is also sort of good news.) Our plan to have new shirts every month is going to hit a little snag. September doesn’t look good for us. Why you may ask? Well it has to do with Davey’s last blog. As he mentioned, we’re already taking a big step forward: we’ve decided to forgo using off-the-shelf t-shirt bodies and are evolving to having custom t-shirts sewn for us. This ensures that like our designs, our actual shirts will be one of a kind and will have a consistent fit and finish that we have chosen. This is exciting. Unfortunately this will be causing a delay. Please don’t forget about us, the next designs we have on the docket are some of my absolute favorites, we may be down for a month, but we’re going to come back strong!
In this down time it will give us the chance to get out to you the special thank you we promised before. We’ve decided to extend this thank you to include everyone that has purchased a shirt up to this point. As soon as we take delivery on these treats, I will be distributing them out to all of you, so you can look forward to that surprise during our absence.
I think I’ve said enough. Again, THANK YOU ALL! We sincerely appreciate the love and support and are excited to bring you more.

PS The new designs are getting close to selling out (which is crazy considering there’s 3 times as many shirts as last time) so please tell anyone and everyone you know who might be interested so together we can write these designs off to history!
